What is Social Media Marketing?
Engaging customers is at the core of every business transaction.
What social media brings to the equation is the ability to engage customers and prospects with you, your business, your products or services as they go about their daily lives.
Social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, etc. allow people to Like or Follow your business and receive feeds or notices from you at their request, giving you the opportunity to open the lines of communication… and trust!
Your social media marketing strategy then becomes the simple (or not so simple) task of feeding your followers with information they will enjoy, endorse and share.
How to Developing a Social Media Strategy
One of the most important factors to social media success is your ability to engage your audience.
What I mean by engage is any activity stemming from a post or update on a social media outlet.
LIKES, SHARES and COMMENTS are all forms of engagement on Facebook. Others would be RE-TWEETING on Twitter, RE-PINING on Pinterest, ENDORSING on LinkedIn, etc.
However, posting any information on the social networks is simply not enough. Your strategy must evoke an emotion or reaction that results in engagement.
Here are some tips:
- Use catchy pictures. We’ve all heard the cliché… “A picture is worth a thousand 1000 words”
- Use video to show what you do or talk about a solution to a problem
- Offer tips and tricks of the trade
- Post solutions to problems your ideal customer experience
- ASK followers to take action: LIKE, FOLLOW, RETWEET, etc.
This part you can and should do yourself or in-house bacause you simply cannot effectively outsource socializing.
Other forms of social engagement – where you or your business can interact with customers and prospects – include review sites like Yelp, Real Self, Healthgrades, ZocDoc, as well as, Reddit, Quora and Youtube to name a few.
Social Media Advertising Services from CaveMedia
Social media advertising is part of a broader marketing strategy and includes more than staying connected via Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn.
And as with any advertising, the goal is to provide a solution to a problem a potential client can BUY.
We do this through a process of discovery:
First, we help you create a client avatar. This helps identify who is your market so that I can better target it with adverting.
Second, we come up with a series of ads to test a variety of headlines and offers to discover which ones draw the most attention.
Third, we review and refine the ads to maximize clicks, which indicates interest.
Fourth, we setup a remarketing campaign on social media for users who clicked through to the website but did not take action
Our goal is to uncover:
- who are your ideal customers on social media to target
- what offer resonates with your ideal customer online
Then we use that information to move onto the next marketing phase which is to create an irresistible offer.
